The Risatti family chose Limone sul Garda as the perfect place to found the Park Hotel Imperial Hotel, not only for the beauty of the landscape, but also for the particular and unique microclimate and healty air. Limone sul Garda immediately after the second World War was transformed from small village of fishermen to a modern tourist centre, one of the most important of the Garda Lake. The fame of Limone sul Garda began to increase remarkably starting in 1979, when a protein, which is able to fight cholesterol, was discovered in the blood of some inhabitants of Limone. This miraculous protein, the only one of its kind so far discovered and for this reason called “the long life elixir”, could have been determined from both climatic factors (mild climate and geographic isolation) and alimentary habits (Mediterranean diet rich of citrus fruits, olive oil and lake fish) typical of the Riviera dei Limoni.
